Laura Beringer is Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics having received her training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Laura has been recognized as a diplomat by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). She also trained at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Miami VA, and has worked at Martin Memorial outpatient clinics. She has also received her Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Public heath and has extensive experience in the field of surgery, transplant surgery, organ retrieval and transplant coordination, and education prior to receiving her medical degree.

Dr. Beringer believes that primary care medicine is the legs upon which all medicine stands. She is adamant about her relationships with her patients and has an old fashioned mentality about health care. Geriatrics was a natural extension of this, as its approach is often comprehensive and holistic, understanding that a person is more than a constellation of physical ailments but also a complex dynamic individual with social, psychological, and functional needs. These are all components that make up her views of excellent care.
